My buddy just got rid of his 62 cj5 that had a warn overdive and he willing to sell it to me so I was wondering if I would work for my 62 Scout 80 since they both have Dana 18 ? Any info would help thanks daren

The key word is "possibly". I had one on my '65. The big gear inside replaces the bull gear on the back of the t-90 trans. There were a couple of different gears used on the d18s, so if the gear tooth count and pitch matches what you pull off, then it will work. Google warn overdrive, and check the model numbers. Iirc, it was a model 33-29.

99% no.
3 variables to watch out for a t90+ t18 in a small Scout.
Transmission output shaft spline= 6 or 10
bull gear= 26 or 29.
Shift rod exit direction= front or rear
t90 on a Dana t18 will be 6 spline, a 29 tooth bull (bowl) gear and front exiting shifter rod. You can buy a new bowl gear for around $400.00 to allow you to use the j@@p warn od but I would wait for another one.
