Where is PCV valve?

This is probably a dumb question, but is this the PCV valve? I'm want to replace it. This is a 1971 1110 pickup with 304 engine. In the service manual, it looks like it should be between the carburetor and the firewall, but to me the only candidate looks to be this circled valve the driver side of the carburetor. Thanks!

thats part of the PCV system, but that is not the valve. that is the flame arrester. the valve is behind the carb, down on the intake manifold.
this is a picture i got off the internet. your plumbing might be different, but this picture does show the PCV valve location.

Thanks - I don't see such a valve or hose on my engine. There's a lot of grease back there, but I think I should be able to see it. Is it possible that the 1971 engine didn't have a PCV valve yet?

The other option is the PCV valve is on the opposite valve cover from the flame arrester.
This is the passenger side valve cover, so I'm guessing this is the PCV valve??? The flame arrester is on the driver side.

The service manual showws something similar to the PCV valve on the beautiful red engine that int77345 posted above, but I just don't see anything like it on my engine.
