I'm pondering the replacement of the 16" split rims with something newer. The tire places I've been to don't do split rims. I'm not finding replacement options. Question is, should I rebuild/clean up split rims and keep them or find modern replacements? If replace then what will fit 6 lug, 6 5/8" bolt pattern. I think that's the correct size. Any help appreciated.

I had my rims lock-ring rims sandblasted and powder coated ($50 each) and had new 10 ply bias lt (truck and trailer) tires mounted by a tire shop that works on commercial trucks and trailers, "normal" shops don't understand the lock-ring rims and could actually hurt themselves if they try! Don't forget that you'll need tubes and "flaps" which add to the cost. I spent $800 on tubes, flaps, tires and mounting, plus the powder coating.... So budget a grand. But they look good now!

X2 any large truck tire shop can do them. Just take them up there and drop them off.

There are no "easy" replacements. It would need to be custom and $$$$.

they are not danderous if the tire monkey lets the air out first, better yet, pull the shrader core before attempting to remove the lock ring.
