What fuel tank is this and where can I find a sender?

'78 Scout II, had it about a week and trying to make it roadworthy again. I got it running yesterday but I'm not going to get very far on the 1 gal tank bungied to the ac compressor mount...

So I dropped the tank to see what's going on in there and why the p.o. Didn't have it hooked up. Rust! And a damaged sender.

Here's what I have:

Any clues on the origin of this tank? I've been googling for an hour and seen similar but not the same...

Here's what the pickup/sender looks like. The tube is 11 5/8" long.

I haven't found this on the IH parts sites.

Any help with the id an finding a sender would be appreciated.

I've got some rust to ponder now...

That is an aftermarket 33 gallon fuel tank.
Probably manufactured by northwest metal products or sunset metal fabricators.

Check the IHPartsAmerica store for a replacement fuel sending unit.

Call them if necessary.

That's a different brand than nwmp or smf. I believe those particular tanks were made by a company in socal but I forget their name. Regardless I would send the fuel tank out to a radiator shop to have boiled and maybe lined. As for the sending unit we do not carry that one but we can make one. You can send us yours for repair or we can make a new one from scratch. Or you can buy either a factory 19 gallon Scout II sending unit or our universal sending unit and use them for parts to repair yours.

Thanks. I looked at the tank some more and found a part of a label buried beneath some undercoating. I scraped a bit and saw 'travel tan..." and the rest of the name was obliterated. So I googled that and came up with travel tanks brand. Seems to be what I have. They appear to have been out of business since before the internet was invented...

Howdy,
did ya look at the IHPA store? I went down the road of a rusted up odd ball tank and in the end got a new one from IHPA any way. My advice save the time and hassle and money, and get the new one first.
The rusted on I had with a liner slowly cracked up over 4 years, and slowly plugged up the fuel system. It resulted in extreme announce and half rigging a fuel line at 5 am to get back on the road...
