What can I do to stiffen suspension?

I have a 73 Travelall 1110 2wd (392) that has a solid beam front axle (fa-1). I have replaced all four shocks, but that didn't help the feel of the suspension any. It has leaf springs in the front and rear along with sway bars in the front and rear. I can't find part numbers or sources for replacement bushings for these. Also I didn't think that going through the effort to replace the leaf spring bushings would do anything. I have considered the popular add a leaf kit, but raising the ride height might make it more floaty. Any suggestions?

Adding stock leaves from an old spring pack should stiffen it up somewhat without adding much height. Add one short and one long leaf to each pack. You will gain some height because you are increasing the spring rate but it should be minimal. Tj.
