Had to take off the water pump housing on a 345 to get to the cam gears and in doing so I noticed an extreme amount of rot in the area where the water pipe seats into the head. In fact, one port has no place for a new o ring to seat at all. I don't know what kept it from leaking other than 35 years of crud.
What can I do to prevent this from leaking when I go to put things back together?
