Wanted VT275

The engine in the Scout is knocking from the valve train in the front of the engine. I've been wanting to replace the engine with a diesel for a long time. This May be it.

Anyone know of any vt275 or maxxforce 5 engines for sale???

I have heard of vt365 and maxxforce7 engines but not vt275 or maxxforce5 engines.

In what would they have seen service?

As far as vt365/maxxforce7 engines are concerned I would say go a generation older.

The t444/7.3l/6.9l engine was about as bulletproof and dependable as any engine that has come along.

The same can not be said for the vt365/maxxforce7.

The vt275 comes in the IH cf500 and 600 series trucks and Ford lcf trucks from 2005-2010. These are an low cab smaller sized trucks. The reason for this engine is that the weight & power are similar to the 345 that's there now, but with about double the mileage. The vt275 is the same engine as the vt365, just with 2 less cylinders.
