V8 345 year of mnf

Hallo fellow scouts
I recently bought a V8 345 for engine replacement to my Scout II 79.

Unfortunatelythe engine seller could not provide specific year of Scout that engine originated. Only mentioned Scout II early 70s.
Is it possible with the Engine ID No. to identify which year the engine was made?
Engine ID no is with V345E 960xxx

In the webbing of the block just behind the valley cover are the numbers/letters that denote the casting date of the engine block.
Clean that area and report back with your engines info and I can help.
Engines were built and installed within six months (more or less) of that date.

I looked it over and it says:
9*2*S

Thank you.
9*2*S would be Sept. 2, 1970 casting date for the block.
So your engine would have originated in a late 1970 or early 1971 model year vehicle.
