I dropped the engine (345) back on my 67 Travelall after cleaning it up and after all of that I had thought that I could put the transmission plate (t98) with the stick back on through the service area in the floor (big mistake!). But before I realized that I also hooked up the u joint to the transmission yoke. fit perfect.
So, that being said. I took the engine back out and put the top plate on the tranny, took the stick shift off so I would have better clearance, bolted the engine down and now I have a 1/2 to 3/4" gap from the u joint to the yoke from the tranny.
Ok.....what have I done wrong? The only other thing I had to do to it was move the shift forks over so they would line up where they go. Would that change anything?
Did my fiddling around with those forks screw things up or did a major flood come by in the middle of the night and shrink my drive shaft?
