I have a 74 with the 727 and d20. I have no reverse right now. I have a chance to get a used 727 and d20 for a total of $300. Supposedly in working order and the guy will drop it off at my house.
Would you say that's a good buy or should I just put the $300 towards having my reverse fixed?

I'd say that is an excellent package price if the tranny is functional.

A ballpark figure for one of our Scout II 727 builds is $995 which includes the "good" internals along with a shift reprogramming kit.
