To build or to buy

Ok so I've been lurking awhile and doing research. I've decided to buy most of my parts here as the customer support sounds great along with quality parts. I'm looking at my first IH engine build. I'm not new to IH or engine building and I have acess to a great machine shop with IH motor experience. But while figuring my budget it's looking like one of the crate motors here aren't sounding that much more expensive. I'm all for doing it myself but I travel for work and don't have much time I could but well you know. Anyway I was going to have the block machined to compensate for new gasket thickness and to be optimum compression for a split duration cam balanced along with some head work. I see some of this can be had on the crate engines for extra but some things I want aren't mentioned. Can you do most anything I want for extra or do you get them from a builder that will only go so far.

Our builder will go as far as you want but keep in mind you May reach a point where they May decline to issue a warranty on the engine if you get too crazy with things. But yes if you want certain things done like decking a block a certain amount, match porting the heads to your intake/exhaust, installing roller tip rockers they will do it for an additional cost.
