Tire Sizing (Time Sensitive!)

Another tire/wheel sizing question. I did a search and found some good diagrams, and good info, but I am not confident what I have seen applies to my situation. The hornet (1967 1100b Travelall) is currently sitting on sun cracked, old, goodyear wrangler mud grip, 4ply tubeless, load range c. Sizing is shown on the tire as 7.00-15lt. So obviously the wheel is a 15", I am assuming it has a 6" width. And has a verified backspacing of 4". Bolt pattern is 5x5.5. So... With the changes in tiring sizing over the years, I am looking for a translation to current sizing. Also I am considering new wheels, mainly because it didn't come with a spare, so if I'm going to do it, May as well do it right... Right? I want to stay with a 15in rim, unless anyone has an awesome argument about why I should go to 16s. And I think id like to go with a 7" wide. Does this mean I need to look for a 5" backspace to maintain the "geometry"? And lastly obviously a concern is fitting everything under the hornet. Due to the condition of the tires, and the distance I need to drive to my tire guy, I had to pull the wheels off the truck and have to take them in without the vehicle. Does anyone know what size options I have on factory height? I could see myself adding a small lift down the road, but right now driving it is the priority. Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to include as much information as possible since I am planning on going to see him tomorrow. Attached are photos of the current setup. Thanks for everyones help and guidance through this project!!

Thank you for the response mr kenney. I did not see the response before talking to my tire guy, so we decided to try 235/75-15. Goodyear duratrac's specifically. Hoping to get them mounted tomorrow, might be the weekend though. Will update this thread with fitment comments in case anyone down the road is in my similar position.
Cheers!!

That's kind of a small tire but will work just fine. You'll like those goodyear duratrac's. I run them on a couple of my IH's and have been more than pleased.

The 235 you chose will be 28.9" tall. I looked and width vs height was best satisfied with the 30.5-9.5-15.

Hope you are happy with it. As Jeff said the 235 in height is small.
215-85-15 is 29.5 tall.

Yes, I did realize they were a bit on the smaller size, but the 235/75 is a very common tire, so I figured if I was able to get her reliably on the road and decided to dive into the suspension I could probably offload the tires on craigslist pretty easily, and go bigger. Not to mention I got a smokin deal on them fully warranties. This is the 3rd vehicle I've had duratracs on and absolutely love them. My tundra will be getting a set also as soon as I decide to pull the trigger on the suspension for it. Thanks again for the feedback!
