Timing new cams

Have we figured why it's so difficult to buy a cam that's at least reasonably timed? 3 new cams, 2 isky's on 1 timing set, 1 schneider on the other.(not that it matters). All three of them came in right around 6 degrees retarded. I was very hopeful with this schneider considering their supposed to actually know something about these engines.

I just don't understand how they're all missing so far and by very similar amounts. Does it having anything to do with the fact that our cam rotates backwards?

Maybe I'm missing something here?

Pass that on the cam grinders. At the end of the day you are finding out exactly why engine building requires degreeing a cam.

Those turkey's. I guess it could be worse. At least rotating the cam gear is a viable option in that 5-6 degree range.
