Thinking about selling my Scout

I am considering selling off another IH. Does anybody want to talk me out of it?

what are you looking for as a dd instead of mean green?

Green hasn't been used as a daily driver for over a year. Sixty miles a day at 8 mpg just became to expensive. :yikes:

I thought if I sold green I could finish orange and start on the kids' Scout.

You will kick yourself if you get rid of it. I kick myself every day for getting rid of my 70 800a. What are you running in mean green for a power plant? 345? Why not piece together a FI system and try to bump up that fuel economy. Maybe look at throwing some $$ into some more friendly highway gears.

I am doing about that much round trip in my 00 silverado, at around 13-15mpg. It is pretty brutal.

The thought has crossed my mind. Honestly green doesn't get driven enough, I have to many projects and not enough $$$!

If I sell green I can finish pink and orange, two projects that have consumed much of my last four years. Besides I'm afraid of what I might do to it if I keep it. Since I get 8 mpg I might as well give it a big block and have fun getting bad gas milage. :icon_cool:

Go big or go home buddy! Honestly that is what I would do. I would love to see 502 ci stickin out of that hood. You would need a shoe horn and some butter to get that bastard stuck in there ;p

really though, having had a few nice old rides like that... I would either keep it and weekend drive it, tweak it for some better fuel economy, or go big.

I had a 72 el camino ss that was just bad as bad can be (Dad sold it while I was away on a jazz band trip because I kept getting in trouble with it)

and a 53 Chevy 5 window pickup that had been fixed up (not restored to stock but it was just as good) that I got rid of because it wouldnt do more than 55 mph.

Things I would love to have back now that I am older.

I would love to have a Scout II that nice to be a dd. I would start piecing together a 383 though, and run a TBI on it so I could still get 13 mpg ;p

Find out when extreme 4x4 is replaying the Scout episodes then list it on ebay and craigs list for an extreme amount of jack.

Hell take out a full page ad on the tennessean and charge a separate grand or two for hauling to nashville and have a vacation on the buyer.

I wish I could monte!

As it is I will have to sell the Travelall just to get the money to finish the cannibal Scout.

Unles.... You want a travel all and two scouts in trade ;) .. Oh that's right.. You said serious offers...
