Greetings to the knowledgeable enthusiasts of this community,
I am currently working on a 1973 Scout II equipped with an aftermarket 33-gallon fuel tank. The sending unit has failed and requires replacement, but I am encountering a compatibility challenge.
My tank requires a unit with an integrated fuel pickup tube, similar to the IH part #402522C2 designed for the 19-gallon tank. Most replacement units I have found for the 33-gallon tanks lack this integrated pickup tube.
Before I invest the time and expense into a replacement, I would like to confirm: will a sending unit designed for a 19-gallon tank provide an accurate fuel level reading in this larger 33-gallon application? My primary concern is ensuring both proper fuel pickup depth and gauge accuracy.
I appreciate any insights or advice you can provide.
Many thanks
