Hi guys I was wondering if I could get some help with my carb.
It's a holly 2210 two barrel. I had it rebuilt and it wouldn't run
without choke so I took it back and the guy said that the main
well tubes were soldered closed... Are the well tubes supposed to be closed or open at the bottom? I know the three ports on the side of the well tubes are suppose to be clear.

I would start by not spending any more time or $$$ on your 2210 and upgrade to a Holley 2300 350 cfm carb. I think the list number is 7448.

The 2210 was a poor performer when new and time hasn't made it get better.

The 2300 is a much better carb. You need a new carb builder, if they were soldered shut and he didn't 'fix' them then why is he now saying they should be opened, and they are soldered shut by the factory. 'posed to be that way, they are open at the top with an 'air bleed'.
What is the carb not doing right - a carb has 2 basic circuits, the idle and high speed, so which are giving you problems and somebody on here will give you excellant advice, theres some smart carb guys on here. Is it a driving issue or an idle?
