Tachometer W DUI

Just a quick question. Is there anything special to hooking up a new (vs old school from years ago) tachometer to a dui distributor or do you just hook it up to the terminal on the distributor? I know in fuel injection they were talking about tach filters and all for the computer but didn't know if it matters on just a tachometer. I emailed performance distributors too but I was hoping to find out by the weekend. I need to fine tune the Scout and figured why buy a handheld tach when I could just install one in the dash. I tried searching but haven't found anything yet.

Well did some google searching and I do believe I've found my answer. It appears that you can directly attach the tachometer to the output without any issue. I guess it is just the FI computers that need the filter. This is what I was figuring but didn't want to fry a 30+ dollar tachometer just to find out.
