T18C

Does anybody know if it is standard for a t18c case to have a t98 top cover/shift rails etc? My family has owned this Scout 800a since new and I do not remember any repairs/modifications to the transmission yet it has the two differently numbered parts. Any thoughts?

Iirc, the shifter assy. Is the same for both units, so the manufacturer did not recast the top cover with (t-18) on it when the trans model was changed. So most t-18 trans will have a top cover identified with "t-98" on it. This has been known to cause confusion in identifying these models of manual transmissions.
The case should be properly identified with "t-18" or similar casting.
