Swapping axles on a '65 3/4-ton T-all

Hi all,

I have an opportunity to swap some of my junk iron that is excess to my needs for some other junk iron I want. Specifically, I am swapping an old bus for some updated axles for my '65 t-all.

What should be on my shopping list--d44 front and d60 rear or d60 front and rear?

Would going to 4-wheel discs be overkill?

In regards to brakes, what will I need to update from non-power assisted single circuit drum brakes to power assisted dual circuit disc brakes? Am I correct in thinking that having a hydraulic actuated clutch complicates matters somewhat?

What steering components will I need to hook up the current steering to the updated axles? Would this be a good time to upgrade to power steering? If so, what else do I need?

With going to the more common 8-lug pattern, for what size tires and wheels should I look?

Thanks in advance for your input.
