Stock Wheels

Hello,

looking for the specs on stock rims for a 72 Scout-II 4x4. Wondering what the rim width is, and what is the tallest 15" tire that can be mounted. Currently running 215-75r15's. I'll also need to purchase an additional rim to be used as a spare.

Thanks much.

Since no one has posted --

your stock steel rims are most likely 7 in wide.

The white spoke rims are also 7 in wide. For later years Scout iis (than yours), I think an optional white spoke rim of 8 in wide May have been offered (but, those May have been aftermarket).

I do not know what is the tallest tire offered for 7 in wide rims.

It probably depends on the tire manufacturer.

Example -- for michelin ltx m/s 31x10.50 r 15: the diameter is 30.8 inches.... The "tallest" ltx m/s for a 15 inch rim

If I remember the stock steel was 6" and the chrome wheels were 7" and the white spokes are 8"

at nationals I have seen a Scout with 33/9.50-r15 BFG radial mud terrain t/a's. I think he has at least two inches of lift. I'm not sure if it is all in the springs or not.

I'm not sure who's it is. I have seen it the last few years, it's a 77-78? Concord blue with a white soft top and aluminum wheels and rallye stripe. ( I think)
