Stock fuel pump for new fuel cell

I am installing a new fuel cell in the bed of my 64 scout 80 pick up. Will the mechanical fuel pump (rebuilt) work or do I need to switch to an electric pump? Has a 196 in it, 4wd with Vacuum wipers.

The stock pump will be fine assuming it is in working order.
