I'm stumped!!! I have a 72 Scout II with a steering box leak that I cant fix. The leak itself is simple, its leaking out of the lash adjustment shaft. Its been an ongoing problem that has gotten worse overtime. I've replaced the nylon lock nut and o-ring, but it continues to leak. For some reason, that I cant figure out, the nut seems to be loosening itself, its worse when its in 4 low and under the highest pressure. I'm starting to think the threads in the cap could be bad and the pressure is pushing the adjuster past a thread or two and causing it to be lose and leak. Has anyone heard of this issue before? Any words of advice would be appreciated. I'm thinking of pulling the sector shaft out and looking for any obvious problems but wanted some guidance before I dove in.
