Just curious how large of a tire can be run with a basic spring over axel, using stock springs. I have been told and read any where from 33” all the way up to 36” tires can be used. All I have been told and read though no one ever had any hard evidence just theories. I am looking for the best way to get 35” tires on my Scout II. Currently I have a 4 inch lift and 33x10.50.
Thank you all for any information…

Depends on how flat the stock springs sit....

Weight of your rig effects this as well...
Is your rig stock or built?
Ie: does it have hd bumpers, rock sliders, and over built full cage. All this can ad a good chunk of weight, making the rig sit lower.

Most guys will say 35s will fit with stock springs, but you might need to do some fender trimming. If done right, most folks won't even notice the trimming. Trimming the fenders also helps to keep a lower center of gravity (cog). Which is very useful when wheeling in off camber situations.

Thank you for the info,
yes I do have larger heavier bumpers, sliders, and a roll bar, and also carry lots of spare parts and tools, so I imagine I am a little heavier then normal.
What is the best way to get 35’s on the Scout? I like my low center of gravity I have currently and never liked the idea of lifting to the mooon….
