The vehicle shipping business is a whole other world. I've been through the process and even used uship. Understanding how it works and being flexible on pickup/delivery times is key. I'm pretty sure I have a name of a guy that did me right, but bottom line is that you almost never deal with the transporter directly. It's usually a middle man that coordinates it all. They put a price, vehicle, location, and destination out on a board and each transporter will take a look at it and decide whether they can take it or not. Some May say it's not worth the money or it's out of their way.
Let me know if you want me to look for the name of the guy I used.
