Shipping charges

Hi, I didn't especially want to make this comment out in the puplic but can't find an email address for you and the website directs product questions to the forum so here goes with my comment. On January 13 I bought some gaskets from you and the shipping was only $1.35. I was pleasantly surprised at the reasonable cost of shipping. Now I ordered a set of main bearing cap plugs which are just a little thicker but overall smaller and maybe the same weight as the first order and they come with a shipping charge of $9.56. Kind of disappointing to spend more for shipping than the product cost. I'm not asking for a refund or anything, just letting you know what a shock this was.

We apologize that you have experienced confusion on our shipping charges on our online store. Our online store calculates shipping directly from ups who is our main shipment carrier and the only carrier used on our online store. We do not calculate the shipping charge ourselves as that is not up to us but ups. All we do is give ups the total weight of the order. The minimum weight that ups charges is for 1 pound regardless if it weighs much less than that. When your previous order was only charged $1.35 it was a mistake on either the ups shipping calculator or directly our mistake in which we honored the charged amount any way. I can assure you it was something that we lost money on if we did indeed ship ups but you didn't say if you called in your previous order and had us ship us postal service. If you would like to order a part from us that will fit in a us postal service small flat rate box or envelope we will be glad to ship that item for you ~ all you have to do is call and ask.

Thanks for the reply Jeff. I did the order by phone but failed to specifically ask about shipping charges and you are right, on the first order it came by us mail. No problem, you guys have always given me excellent service and this is no big thing.
