Sheet aluminum needed - I'll take anything!

I'm looking for a flat piece of aluminum 24"x48" - thickness is up for debate. It only needs to be thick enough to hold 100 pounds when the sheet is supported the full length on the 48" sides.

I'd also consider expaned aluminum sheeting or aluminum diamond plate.

It could also be 2 pieces as long as it was 24" wide. I can cut it and weld it if needed.

Anyone have or know where I could find something like this without paying full arm and a leg retail??

Heck a couple old road signs would work!

I actually am thinking this idea might work! I'm sure I know where there are a few....

Who do I know that works for a public works department??? :ihih:

Great, not only do I have to worry about junkies stripping my copper wires to the house and tweakers snorting the platinum out of my catalytic converters but now I have to worry about dudes jacking the local street signs for skid plates. :icon_rolleyes:

I found a couple hundred square feet!! My co-worker has an old bread van he bought for the 4bt - I thought he scrapped it already - nope still has it....

Sweet!

I can now cut as many feet as I want out of it.

And it isn't going to be skid plates - much wimper use, roof rack material for my camper. :rolleyes5:

thanks everyone for the offers and ideas.

Here is the final product:

I ended up with a huge piece that I cut down the 52"x21.25". And the price was right!!
