Shackle Reversal

I recently bought a hysteer kit and misc. Items for IH Parts America. I plan on building a shackle reversal for my 74' Scout II. I cannot buy the product because at my school we have to build everything from scratch, to learn the ropes of fabrication. I know my cross tube for the front axle spring mount is 34" long. I plan on using 1.5" diameter tubing, and 5" shackles. I was wondering what the dimensions would be for the fangs for the front spring mount. Thanks!

Now this is unique! A guy who is working hard at learning stuff insteada doin' git'er dun!

Maybe there is hope for tha yungsters afterall?

Good luck dude, Jeff'll take care of ya and walk ya through the deal!

I'm certainly not going to speak for Jeff but, he spent allot of time and money developing his reverse shackle kit. I think that it is asking quite a bit for him to hand over the design to be copied. I agree that it is really great that a young man is taking the time to learn how to fabricate, but you are basically asking Jeff to take food off his table. It certainly helps that you are a good customer but put yourself in his shoes. He has literally spent years and thousands of dollars designing and bringing to market his kit.

Chad is right in that I really hate giving away my secrets however
I spoke with jake on the phone yesterday after he placed a decent online order and agreed to getting him some measurements so that he can build his own fangs. I'm only doing this because I like the fact that jake's teacher at wyotech is making him actually get off his ass and build something rather than buying a bunch of bolt-on/weld-on parts.

Jake - enclosed in your package will be the makings of one fang(an unwelded version). This will give you the measurements you need and you will have to build at least one to finish the job. Good luck on your build and let me know if you end up needing any other parts such as ubolts, shocks, driveshafts, etc.

Hey Jeff, thanks alot for everything, I really appreciate everything you've done, I know I asked alot from ya. It means a lot. Thanks again, and I plan on ordering more parts from ya in the future!
