The last two days I've been visiting all the Star smog check stations in the Sacramento area. All of them have an excuse why they can't test the truck. The machine is down, out of nitrogen, machine isn't calibrated, come back tomorrow, I don't know what engine size it is, don't know when the machine will be fixed, "I'll test it, but it will fail"... It goes on and on. If my 76 were one year older I wouldn't have to deal with any of this crap. I've really had it with the smog idiots. It has always been difficult to find someone to smog it, but it has gotten crazy lately. The thing is, the truck is fully compliant and passes the emissions tests easily. I've had mechanics comment how clean it runs. But I can't even find someone willing to perform the test.
Seems impossible to find a smog tech willing to perform the test in California
