Thursday afternoon I loaded the family into the Scout and headed east. The plan was to camp at suttle lake and do a little fishing. However when we got to the suttle lake campground all the spots were reserved for the weekend. So I kept heading east to the metolius river. A little more off the beaten path the metolius is a beautiful place to camp.
Happy kids loaded up ready for adventure.
We stopped at swiss village for burgers.
Our campsite.
Gaby with her new fishing rod.
Nice native rainbow.
David posing with his fish before release.
Camp sherman store.
Making friends with one of the locals.
Stopping to make lunch on the way home.
It was a great trip. While I'm sure it would have been fun in any car. There is something real cool about doing it in a Scout.
