Scout owner - WARNING!

Hi,
there is this sweet Scout-camper parked near my work. It's been there a couple months, not hurting anything and not in the way of anyone as it's a commercial/industrial street.

Yesterday, on my way home, I saw that it had a ticket on the windshield. I assume its for parking. That means in as little as 3 days it could be towed and the owner will have to pay a hundred bucks plus for towing and possibly as much as $45 a day each day for storage. And, if these fees are not paid (usually cash only) within 30 days, he will never see the truck again. Contrary to popular belief, after 30 days, impounded vehicles are not always put up for auction if the tow company's owner or one of his employees want the vehicle. I used to know a worker at a tow yard that had a contract to tow ticketed, crashed and/or impounded vehicles, and he has sold me several vehicles for next to nothing after the owners could not come up with the storage fee payments.

Today the ticket was still on the windshield so I'm sure the owner is unaware the clock is ticking on his vehicle.

So if you know the owner of this Scout, please let him know his ride has been ticketed and he had better move his vehicle, at least a block or two, otherwise he's going to lose it and the camper.

Of course, if he doesn't want his Scout, and is willing to give it to the jokers at the tow yard, I would be happy to buy it from him, and pay his ticket. ;-)

So here's the end of this story, if anyone cares.
Exactly 3 days after the ticket appeared on the windshield, the Scout disappeared, most likely impounded.
Then several days after that it reappeared, parked about half a block from where it was originally. So I'm happy to report apparently the owner got his Scout back.
