I recently "repaired" the radiator in my 71 Scout II, now its leaking worse than before. :mad2: I'm trying to see if anyone has an old radiator laying around that theyd sale for reletivly cheap. (around $50 ish?) hopefully someone local? I'm planning on towing the Scout to the ralley so if I can't find one locally then maybe someone who's going might have one??
 
Not sure if it leaks but in a lot of ways it does kinda resemble a pretzle. I'll have too look at it again, but if memory suites my feble brain, the upper rad. Inlet is bent.

You're welcome to swing by the shop anytime. I'm off work from full time job this whole week. Besides, I still have your ammo can tool box here still sitting under my tube bender. Lol I'm here working on my 73 camo beast fixing and replacing rust cancer among other things
 
I've got a good 2 core radiator that came out of my Scout II with a 258. I would take $50 for it. I'm in sac.
 
Thanks again scooter for the radiator. But I probably wont have enough time to fix that upper inlet before the ralley. Ill fix it after the ralley to keep as a spare.

Matt right? (scouty) will you be going to the ralley? If so then would you be able to bring the radiator with you?

I'm hoping to make it to the ralley Saturday but that's if I can get all the kinks worked out of the Scout. Will bring the radiator if I make it.
 
I thought I got rid of all my radiators, but found one on the side of the shed yesterday:shocked: then I remember I picked it up when getting a Scout windshield frame.

I could pressure test it, if autozone still has there free tools. I think he told me it had a leak? Just what you need another leaky radiator lol I would be willing to trade it for an elixir that's 90 proof.

Hopefully Matt can make it. If not I will bring it and you can try it out. ( I sent a pm to dennis to get the details on the radiator, hope to hear back later today)


fwiw if you have a leak, loosen the cap so you have no pressure. Then it keeps the water in longer.

There is one on craigslist in oakland for $60 if you are still looking.
