Scout II frame

I need a Scout II frame in good shape. Willing to help take apart for it. But I would like to find a straight frame with no broken spring hangers or body mounts or steering box mount area. I live in sac. 916-230-7632 thanks

Hmmmmmmmmm

might be able to work something out. I have contemplated on a rebuild of my barrel rolled 74 Scout. But not sure if I will ever get a chance to actually get to it. But I have at least one person, if not several several other people, who have first dibs of the registration though. Only thing that's still attached, for the most part, is the tub, and a couple other parts that I wanna keep.

The good:
I made a set of shock hoops that goes through the frame and then welded them on both inside and out sides of each frame rail. Then added a 1/4" thick plate to the outside of the frame that's sandwhiched between the steering box and frame.

The bad
the rear spring hangers for shackles on the rear end is a bit bent out of shape. But can be fixed. Other than that it's all good.

If you wanna come down and take a look, let me know. I'm down here in richmond. About an hour to 1-1/2 hour drive. I'll be here in my shop space all weekend, till Monday night, working on my other beast of a Scout

I've got a couple of standard tranny frames, and a couple of auto's. A bit out of the way from you though, western canada. Just so you know, they're available. Along with a boat load of other parts...parting out 5 Scout II's.

Scooter! Hows it going buddy? That would awesome. I'm thinking if I dont find or stumble upon anything tomorrow I just might come down Sunday. Saturday is pretty busy. How much you thinking?

Hey there. Just busy worken on my 73 beast. I will be here in my shop space all day Sunday, unless some emergency comes up.

Not sure yet of exactly what route to actually go with my rolled 74. But as life happens and other projects getting in the way, I don't think I will be able to get a chance to rebuild it. I pretty much have access to all the parts needed to get it streetable again. But, it's all about the time, or lack there of. And at this point, I think that I would rather get my 72 Scout drivable first before the rolled 74. :mad2: so many projects and so little time. Lol

let me know if you wanna come down tomorrow. Shoot me a pm and I will give ya directions.

I have a & 73 Scout 2 frame and tub ill sell you and im in yuba city you can have both or just the rolling chassis

ians do you still have them or are they gone? Scooter where is the vin stamped at on the frame?

One set of stampings on driver side outside frame rail. About a foot rearward from the shock mount just before where the leaf spring mount is located. There is also another set of stampings on the rear most cross member that the rear bumper gets attached.

Those are the only two areas that I am aware of that are stamped on the frame. In referrence to the actual vin number, that is actually a sticker mounted on driver side door jam on the a-pillar

So if I do a frame swap do you think I'd have legal issues? Not that I would advertise it. But I called a local dude that has like 25 scouts and wouldn't sell me a pre 75 frame for under a grand. Frame only with pink slip. After 75 no problem. My Scout is a 75 and frame is all bucked up. The po did a number. I've never heard of a cop checking vin on a frame. Or at all outside the registration. I would on a yota tho those guys are shady. What do you think?

Well my Scout II is registered and it is a 75 "street legal" grocerie getter. The frame is to bamaged and bent to recover. Looks like the po hit something on the right side head on and it buckled right before the motor mount which pushed the mount back. With the transmission connected it puts the crossmember out of sync with the transmiision bolt holes about 3/4 of an inch. I had to loosen the motor mount bolts and pry with a big azz bar to mount the tranny. :frown2: so I just want to change the frame and clean it all up. Make it right. Looking at the front shakles you can clearly see how off it is.
