scout dana 44/dana 30

Does anyone know if the Scout Dana 44 and Scout Dana 30 (open knuckle) knuckles are the same.

Not exactly. Ring & pinion and differential are different size between the two

I can tell you they have different part numbers, and are shaped quite a bit differently where the brake backing plates mount, probably due to the drum/disc difference. Have a couple of 44 knuckles off in the garage and a d30 housing without axles in the backyard, and compared them. There are few other noticeable differences as well, so the answer is most likely not.

What exactly are trying to do?

I would guess you want to know if the Dana 44 knuckles would fit on a Dana 30.

I was planning on putting the cj Dana 30 open knuckles on a Scout Dana 44.
