Scout 800 Steering Column Length

Uncle's Scout

I recently acquired a collapsible steering column which was supposed to have been removed from a 4 cylinder Scout 800a/b to replace my early non telescopic column on my 66 Scout 800.

However as I got to looking at things, the one that I bought appears too short. My original column is approximately 53 inches long and the measurements for the one I bought are:

the upper rod length measures: 26-5/16"
the lower collapsible segment measures: 19-3/4"
total length assuming a 3/8 inch thick coupler is approximately: 46-1/2"

I checked the parts catalog and the upper column is the same for the 4 and 8 cylinder vehicles; however, the lower segment has a different part number (and very likely a different length). Can some folks chime in on the lengths of the 8 and 4 cylinder lower collapsible shafts. I need to get this sorted out and I don't want to have to fab something if I can just get the vendor who sold it to me to look for the right size. Any help would be really great. Thanks!
