Scout 800 Springs with Scout II D44 Axles

Uncle's Scout

My Scout is a 66 800 with the original SUA springs (currently being swapped out for your CPT suspension kit) and a 1978 Scout II d44 front axle. I am looking to get at least a passenger side u-bolt plate to fix the weirdly-built one already on the vehicle. Couldn't I just enlarge/notch the existing u-bolt holes on your Scout II CPT plates 1/4 inch to accommodate the narrower spring pack of the 800? I was considering the set described below, but I don't know if I am missing something more fundamental.

Thanks
