RPT tranny mount install

Hey Jeff,

simple question -- I'm not afraid to display my ignorance so that other wannabes like me can learn too. :icon_cool:

'74 Scout II, 727 auto.

I've never worked with a tranny mount before, so is this the way it's designed to go in? Or is the lower set of bushings supposed to be underneath the crossmember, "sandwiching" it?

Thanks,

Matt

The lower set of bushings are supposed to go underneath the crossmember sandwiching it. The sleeves go through the crossmember so it cannot be over compressed. Hope this helps!

Thanks michael. I don't recall any sleeves being shipped with the mount; just bolts, lock nuts, and washers. I'll re-do it with the lower bushings underneath the crossmember.

Well once I got the mount apart again, of course the sleeves were there as they should be. Duh.

I re-did the install - correctly this time - and the excessive vibration I was getting before has gone away. The mount is a nice product; thanks Jeff & crew!

I was just ready to post about the upgrade as well..thanks for posting as this cleared up all my questions
