Reverse Skyjacker Rear Springs

I've searched on this quite a bit but was unable to find the answer I was looking for.

I'm in the process of putting Skyjacker 4" lift springs on my 1977 Scout II and the rear tires are a little too close to the front of the wheel well. I know that Skyjacker springs have an offset pin and the longer portion of the spring is supposed to go towards to rear of the truck. Is it possible to give myself a little more room at the front by flipping the spring and moving the longer part of the spring to the front?

I wasn’t sure if the springs were only made to be mounted in the setup that was drawn out in the Skyjacker install instructions (long portion to the rear).

If I flip the springs around, will I likely have problems with my drive shaft? Will I need a longer one? I don't do any serious wheeling, so not too much flex.

Maybe.

You'll have to do it to find out. But leave them the way they are. When they compress, your axle will move twords the rear and tuck into the wheel well.
