Reverse shackle bushing/spring eye questions

Hey guys,

I did my reverse shackle last week and all went well until i went to install the springs into the new front spring hangers and had a half inch of extra space. I called the shop last week and was told i had the wrong bushings so i ordered new ones and they don't fit.

I measured the inside of my hangers and it's 2 - 3/16" inside but my springs are only 1 - 11/16" wide. I thought i would need to replace the spring eye bushings but those are 7/8" and the new bushings are 1 - 3/16"

Needless to say i am super confused now.

Thanks

Looks like either you ordered the wrong replacement bushings or shipping department sent you the wrong ones. Regardless, let me get you the correct bushings and we will put a return shipping label for you to send back the wrong parts. You will also need four 1/4" thick fat washers which come with our reverse shackle kit for the 80/800's. Check and see if you have those and then call us so we know who you are and where to send these replacement parts to.

Jeff, i appreciate the help, i got all the parts now and i am now trying to figure out where to put everything ;)

Can you give me specific instructions on what washers go where? I currently have the following:

Front reverse shackle hanger- 2 thin gold washers, one on either side of the spring eye bushing.

Rear of front spring shackles- one thick washer on the outside bushing, against the shackle side that has the round welded spacer on it.

I've looked everywhere and i can't find any more info online or in the instructions, so I have tried to find this info. Thanks for the help!

You will end up placing one 1/4" washer in each front fang and one 1/4" washer by the spring eye in between the shackle plates. A total of four thick washers. It sounds like you have the rear shackles installed correctly.

Since the fangs and inside width of the rear shackles are 2.25" wide, they need to be narrowed up to 2" to match the width of the spring/bushing. You shouldn't need to use any gold zinc washers inside the fangs/shackles. Thanks.
