Refinishing intake manifold

I have a '72 Scout, 304, 727. I have a small leak of coolant onto the valley pan. I am about to pull the I. Manifold, media blast it, install new welch plugs, rebuild the carb and replace the plywood gasket between the carb and the manifold with a new hi tech one from IHPA. I have ordered all the stuff including new gaskets. Can anyone tell me if there is anything I should do for the egr valve? Is there one in the intake manifold, should I remove it, is it important?

Thanks!!

Ps: does anyone know off hand, the size of the intake manifold bolts? I would like to have a new set when I start this project. This is my daily driver and it is much easier to get stuff before I take it apart!!

If there is no 2.5" vacuum diaphragm bolted to the manifold behind the carburetor there is no egr. Most 72's do not have egr, but with IH and po's anything is possible.
