Recommended locker/LS for 2wd?

Hi, my 1973 2wd "old school prerunner" Scout rebuild has come to the rear end and was wondering what you experts recommend for the rear end. It's a one legger right now but would like to be able to either run around town open and lock when needed or put in a decent limited slip. What's my best bet for ease of install and price? I would like to do the work myself without going to the driveline shop. Thanks for the advice in advance-

I'm fond of the ARB air locker. Acts like an open diff when not engaged, then once it's engaged it will be locked. It is actuated by air and a switch on the dash. Nice thing about it is that you will have on board air for air tools if needed. Better yet, beong able to air up your tires when they go flat.

Putting in a selectable traction aid will always be more work and cost because there are more parts to deal with.

In my truck I have an ox locker in front and an Auburn lsd in the rear. My Scout has the factory lsd. Here in Colorado, I do like the lsd in the rear. But since I'll have a nice on board air setup on the Scout soon I'm going to go the air locker front and rear route on it down the road.

What condition is the rear in, torn down, or is it together and you are looking to up grade. If it's together and you want ease of install, put a spartan or lock right in the carrier.
