Rebuilding a rebuild

Hi,

after ignominious death on the freeway, the engine is pulled, heads and oil pan off.

Number 8 piston looks off center in the bore, a few bits of bearing in the pan (journal bearing?). Heads look great, bores are clearly worn, but all show the remnants of cross hatch. Botom end has not been taken apart yet, but no obvious gouges in the cylinder bores.

My International renewed engine was bored 0.040 over. Clearly I need to get it apart and measured, but is 0.060 over available/recommended?

First off if you still see cross hatch on the part of the bore traveled over by the rings, it's doubtful there is much wear.

.060 is no problem as the bore wall thicknesses on the sv series are around .280-.300. They will handle a .125 over bore easy. Yes the .060 over slugs are availible.
