Re: Scout II SOA + R/S

I just picked up my first Scout. 74 Scout II/354/727/d20/d44 f&b. It's set for 20 years the reverse ban is out and a mouse had its way with the wirring. Berfore I start on the motor I plan on dueing the lift while it's at full weight. I'm planning on a SOA w/ stock springs. I'm ready to do a cut & turn and high steer. I'm still undecided on a rs. My question is the swaybar in the rear. Why in the rear and not the front? Does the rs remove the need or are the springs just that stiff. (prepair to hate) all my 4x4 experince comes from my jeeps. I was raised a Jeep guy by my Dad. But I'm not a Jeep snob. My club is made up of all makes / modes and has been around for 30yr. It will be the only Scout in the club. This will be at lest a 2yr project. I'm looking for good road manners for light cruising and fun on heavy snow days on the way to work. But, mainly it will be off road for family wheeling w/ the wife and 2 girls.

My Jeep is jealous becuase I now have a new love. Any tool can get a Jeep but a Scout brings out the true 4x4 lover in you. Thanks in advance and don't worry I'm thick skinned.

Re: Scout II SOA + R/S

The reason you see our swaybars mostly in the rear is due to the installation being easier. When used in the front clearances get tight from the tierod/draglink. Some of our builds have a front swaybar but we did have to put a lot of thought and testing in making sure everything cleared.
