I have a 1980 traveler with the 6-33t in it also. Do you know any specs on the fuel and or turbo I could do for a bit more hp? I dont want to hurt this original engine but would like more out of it! Thanks

Does anyone know much about the Nissan 6-33 turbo IH used?
I have one in my 1980 traveler and I was wondering what I could do to the turbo or the fuel to get a bit more hp! I dont want to damage the engine in any way it only has 71k original miles on it

Lol...I know what u mean...have one for 12 years now...k&n air cleaner...the turbo has a 2.5 inch out @ the hot wheel...u can remove the cast 90 degre elbow and make a plate to replace and run new 2.5 inch pipe out with less restricion and remove muffler 2n half or 2and 3qurter pipe out to tail...this will wake up the top end a little....the pump can be turned..mine is but I bought it from a diesal mecinc and I did not aske him how:incazzato::incazzato:...hope that helps u some......one thing I learned about the Nissan sdt....its a turd but will run for ever with proper maint.....the motor is at home in the dirt:cornut:

Thanks for the info!!! Im gonna do the k&n intake this engine runs so good I really don't want to mess it up!!

No worrys nice to see another sd oilburner out there...I have 2 and my buddy has one aswell....I get 36 mpg on 35s with 410s when it was nearly stock

This was the best upgrade I found for my sd33t -- except for the 4bt.:icon_rotate:

Scout II diesel downpipe - International Scout parts

Air flow is the key to success. Improve the exhaust, then open-up the intake with a high-flow fiter. There is a lot of info on binderplanet and others -- search for exhaust elbow eliminator or eee.

I started taking the tub off today!! Wow!! I bought a 2" body lift and some of my mounts are all rusted out on the tub. I guess the only way I can fix everything the way I want to is to do this frame off. Im gonna flip it over and go through it all!! I need some inner fenders for this my old ones are shot!! Got any ideas on some pretty good used ones since they seem to cost a ton? :yikes:
