Rattles almost gone! Need door advice please...

Well I've got my project down to door latch and tailgate rattles left to become a silent (except for m/t tires) ride. I think some late model tailgate straps will take care of the tailgate but am needing advice on doors...when I hit bumps the door seems to bounce up in the striker/latch area and I'm out of adjustment space, is there supposed to be a nylon bushing on the striker? Anyone have any slick fixes for this? I have all new oversized weather stripping on everything and rebuilt/tight hinges and am too close to quit now! Help...

On my tail gate straps, to remove the rattles, I did a little peen work on the center rivet to tighten them up. Also put some split fuel hose on the metal tabs on the tail gate. Been good for years.

For the lift and tail gate there is a 1/4" id x 3/8" od plastic water hose that fits over the striker latches nicely. It cushions and tightens things up too. They usually last about 6 months before being worn through. I do live on a bumpy dirt road though.

tailgate- replaced metal slider straps with 1996 Ford tailgate "wire" straps. Put old ones in parts box.

doors- repaired teflon springloaded slider above door striker that holds door from bouncing up.

Rattles are gone...for now:lol:
