RALLYE door prizes

There's only two months left 'till the rallye. So it's time to start thinking about collecting door prizes. (oil, filters, sparkplugs, etc)
I thought I'd do something a little different this year. Since I've been unemployed, I've gotten back into my hobby of home brewing. I've got a couple of batches underway right now that should be ready in plenty of time for the rallye.
I've got a dark stout aging in bottles that I'll be labeling: Scout stout
and I got a batch of brown ale still in the primary fermenter that I'll be labeling: terra brown.
Like I said, just something different. Oh, I suppose that we'll have to be sure that the winner is over 21 :smile5:
other than that, I'll be "regifting" the clock that I won last year from IH Parts America.
Cheers,

marty

How much for the clock?

The brew is a slippery slope. Not sure how lfr would react. Tim potter kinda did the same thing at the last regionals. He bought several cases from some micro-brewery in oregon. It raised quite a few issues with the ag center. Because tim & the beer weren’t abc “approved”, it couldn’t be sold and had to be kept out of public view. In the end, tim had a donations bucket.

I bought both label designs tim had – they were cool. Never opened them.

Rats! I didn't think of that.
Oh well, I'll just have to drink them myself.:arf:
too bad tho. I spent a couple of hours yesterday spray painting and ihing two six-pac carriers.

I bottled the brown ale yesterday. From the looks of the gravity readings, it'll be a potent batch. My calcs predict it at somewhere around 6%. :icon_rotate:

Btw has anyone heard anything about the status of lake francis resort? Did they burn to the ground or where they spared?

This is from the lfr website
we had no damage from the fire near the resort; a bit of ash cleanup and everything including the pool & lake are open to the public. You cannot tell the fire even happened unless you drive past the lake a mile or so. It probably came within a mile of the dam of the lake.

how did it taste?

The brown ale is still aging (ageing?) in the bottle. It should be ready to try on the 12th.
The stout is awesome! Rich malt initial taste, bitter hoppy finish and a dark chocolate after taste. And talk about strong, you don't want to be driving after drinking one of these. Hum, perhaps in the interest of public safety, I should drink these as quickly as possible.:wink5:

I started a 5 gallon batch of porter on the 1st that should be ready for bottling around the 12th to 14th. Porter makes for a good autumn style, octoberfest type beer.

I was thinking of starting a batch today using up some of the "leftover" ingredients from the previous several brews. I expect that it would turn out something like a light ale (think sierra Nevada pale ale). However it comes out it should be interesting.

Stop by and have a beer sometime,

marty
