Dave mentioned that you guys talked a lot about a picnic. What's up?

This is something that dave, marty and karen have been wanting to do for years

This sounds like a great idea . It would be nice to get the familys more involved. And maby I.h. Only (Jeff) could get us a mailing list or e-mail of I.h. Owners in the area,so we might get some strete rigs to show up pluse our wheelers. Just throwing out a idea.

Dave mentioned somewhere in the san ramon valley or further north on 680. When we select a date, remember not to crowd it with the rallye. Give it some breathing room to space out get-togethers...more of a summer event.

Who’s familiar with the area? Something that could accommodate, saaaaay, 25 trucks???

Wouldn’t del valle be a nice setting?

Here's one. How about j. F. Kennedy park in hayward? It has lots of parking and there's a mini train, bounce room and petting zoo for the kids.
$.02

East bay regional park
• email was never returned.
• I made a phone call. In order for her to help me, we need to select a location.
• to reserve a space for our group at chabot costs $450.oo + cleaning deposit + $5.oo parking per vehicle.
• parking lots are first come - no blocking off
• there are user and parking fees at all their facilities.
• parking lots are not accessible to the picnic grounds
• I sent pleasanton fairgrounds an inquiry at her suggestion. I bet that will be expensive.

any suggestions?

Cabot is nice but I don't think it would suit our needs . Kennedy would but it gets really crowded in the summer. East ave park in hayward has parking right by the bbq's & is off the beaten path a +&-. Shadow cliffs in pleasanton or micky grove in modesto might be better for the nor cal guys ? Just ideas. Any idea on a budget to secure a spot ( I hate the money subject) the cost east bay parks quoted cary was a little shocking at first, but as I thought about it it seamed like it May be average :icon_sad: there is a private park in crow canyon & one in san ramon I will check as soon as I can but I figure the will be pricy.
I would like to thank cary for the leg woke he has already done
p.s. Got my spell check running what do you think bettar?(just gotta get stacy to use it)

It’s the size of the group and our needs that matters. If all we need is grass to sit on, then yes we can pretty much show up anywhere and party. The only fee involved is parking.

To utilize a park’s facilities as a group, such as picnic tables; access to water; shade; bbqs; some privacy; etc; costs dollars.

Thank of it as the difference between sycamore and area 5

Quarry lakes plenty of parking fishin reservable areas swim area and close did some one say this already? I skiped some post:sleep:

Nice place. I think marty mentioned quarry several years ago.

A reason for finding a place in the san ramon area is to bring in guys like mocha, Craig, bill, randy, etc. Dinners are inconvenient for them. This is another way to keep in touch other than hh, workdays & the rallye.
