Hey folks,
Something I’ve learned the hard way over the years is that a lot of IH parts appear interchangeable until you actually try to install them. Exhaust parts especially seem to catch people out.
I’m currently sorting through some manifolds and brackets and noticed how small differences in casting, outlet angle, or mounting bosses can completely change what year or model they belong to.
Curious how you all handle this:
do you go by casting numbers first?
Visual cues and measurements?
Old parts books or just experience?
Also interested to hear about any “almost fit” parts that fooled you at first glance.
Always good to learn from others before repeating expensive mistakes.
