Good evening,
I recently installed a Proform CS130 160 amp 1-wire alternator on my 72 Scout II with a 304. I ran the single wire to the starter main post along with positive battery wire and my ISSPro volt gauge shows I'm getting just over 14 volts. The issue I'm having is the truck will start 2-3 days in a row depending on how many times I stop and start before the battery goes dead. The battery is a 3-month-old Optima redtop dual post and whenever I test/charge it all appears good, and the battery holds the charge.
However, it seems that the battery isn't being charged while the truck is running even though all indications show it is charging. Can one of you more experienced Scout owners shed some light on what the issue might be or provide some additional options for testing.
Thanks, as always.
