Hello everyone, good to find a great home with like minded people, at least your love for the best vehicle around, I have owned 2 scouts over the years, a '78 Scout II rallye I purchased in 80 with already 197k miles from trips to mexico from the previous owner. Sold it in '96 and purchased a '72 in 2000. The '72 has been SOA'ed, pumpkins turned with 35's, 410's, and track-locs front/rear, stock 345, 727, d44's. I gave it some custom side bars and my own light bar and a few details inside.
It also has a line-loc e-brake system. Since I've owned 2 scouts my attitude about the most reliable, most enjoyable 4x has never changed and never will. They definately don't make them like they used to.
The blue rallye's 345 got completely rebuilt and the 727 was built full race. It rode on 33's with d44's, trac-locs and 393's, a 4inch spring/3" body lift and home stitched top and rear snap cover. As per breaking it in the hard way, it was expensive but the only way to find the weak links. She ended up stout and very strong and put alot of "shiny chrome" trucks to shame.
I also have parts I acquired when a local IH buddy here in squaw valley past away a few years ago.
I have a terrra top, interior upper panels for the Scout II tops, a 727, 4 speed (don't know the make yet), a t-case(single stick) steering box and a few other items including good door glass. Get that stuff posted in a bit.
Great to be here and look forward to meeting some of you at the October event.
scouts.......better than diamonds and just as hard.
The "blurry" jumpin pic occured on the way home from the lot. It was her first jump and she didn't even hickup...........
