Need help with my lights when I pull the switch on my Scout the headlights only come on. I replaced the switch but still a no go. I do get brake lights and rear turn signals but thats it. Need fixed asap as the cops are all over me so any help is greatly appreciated!! ( yes I checked fuses and bulbs )

Do the instrument lamps operate? Does the license plate illumination lamp operate? Those and the taillights only are on a separate fuse from the headlights. The headlights are on a circuit breaker, not a fuse.

Most likely point to check is the bulkhead connector for the chassis wiring/light system. That is the other bulkhead connector that does not have the the 10 gauge wire runs for the battery distribution system. The upper connector.

Pull it apart and check all contacts for cleanliness. Then check all the way down the frame rail looking at the harness for evidence of damage such as mouse/rat chew. At the rear of the main lighting harness that goes to the back, you will find a "gang plug" for each side, pull that apart and check for corrosion/contact at each plug/disconnect also. While the turn signal/stop circuits share the wiring loom, they are a completely separate wire run/circuit.

I've posted applicable schematics for these vehicles in this stickee:

Now's the time to download and learn to use 'em!

I'm moving this thread to the "electrical tech" sub-forum.
